Are you just sick and tired of being sick and tired? That was me too, so exhausted all the time from the demands of teaching, and even worse, the extra 60 plus pounds I was carrying from overeating.
For me, the decision to lose the weight once and for all came one an autumn day in 2001, as I was walking up from the first floor at the school I taught in. I will never forget the way I felt that day, I was so embarrassed. I could not breathe, huffing and puffing walking up the stairs. I was moving so slowly, all the students passed me, which made me feel defeated. I could not even make it to my class on time. I was 23,, a first year teacher, and was out of breath from walking up one flight of stairs! How was I supposed to be a role model and empower my students when I couldn’t even take control of my own life?
I made a decision right then, NEVER again! I never wanted to feel winded and embarrassed from walking up a flight of stairs. I decided to start taking control of my weight with an exercise and meal plan. I started to feel great and lost about 25 pounds that year, and was feeling better about myself.
Since that day I decided to make a change, I have been on the journey of self-improvement, growing, learning, and seeking out better strategies. I have lost weight, gained it back and lost it again. Then I decided to become a success coach, educating myself more each day. I also have transferred my personal successes into the classroom and schools as an education consultant, coach, and trainer. I get results in and out of the classroom to help you live your most fulfilling life!
My my top tips for anyone wanting to improve your life:
1. Get a coach. The most successful people in the world have coaches to help them push through, strategize, and make corrections quickly when they get off track.
2. Make a DECISION! Ultimately, you have to decide that you are WORTH IT! Nobody else is going to do the work for you, decide that you MUST do what it takes.
3. Read or listen to Personal Development. This is a MUST! You have to crash the chatter and negative thoughts with positive strategies & tools to improve your life. Change your thoughts, change your life!
4. LOVE YOURSELF! You are worth it!
